Unai Emery has offered a positive injury report as he discusses Matty Cash and the returns of Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey.
In the defeat to Nottingham Forest, Aston Villa fans had been left with concerns over Matty Cash’s fitness.
Against his former side, Cash was taken off by Unai Emery following a problem. Now AZ Alkmaar travel to Villa Park just four days later.
With rotation being preferred in European competition so far this season. It may give a chance for some stars to be rested.
Although it is a certainty that fans won’t want any more injuries to add to the already lengthy list.
What has Unai Emery said about injuries?
Speaking prior to the game against AZ, Emery has delivered several positive injury updates to some key men.
Tyrone Mings and Emi Buendia are almost certain to miss the whole season due to their injuries and haven’t been discussed.
Alex Moreno and Jacob Ramsey are two other long-term injuries that have hampered the Villains. Both have missed all of this season (bar one substitute appearance for Ramsey) and have been sorely missed.
Discussing the pair with the Birmingham Mail, Emery said: “Alex Moreno is close to start playing again. He is feeling very well.
“Jacob Ramsey should be available after the international break.”
An additional concern for fans in the past few days has been Cash after his substitution against Forest this week.

Continuing to discuss injuries, Emery added some detail about the right back: “He didn’t have a big problem, it was only a small problem.”
It is good to hear that the Poland international should be available for the AZ match or worse case, for Fulham at Villa Park. The £80k-a-week star has had a positive season and will be missed.
Although having Cash at full fitness will be important to the Villains’ performance, the other two returning will excite fans.
The prospect of Moreno and Ramsey flying in tandem down the left-hand side once again is something all fans want.
