Dean Smith has confirmed that Tammy Abraham will miss Aston Villa’s trip to Leeds United on Sunday, but Axel Tuanzebe will be fit.
Both players, who are on-loan at the Championship club from Manchester United and Chelsea respectively, missed their side’s 1-0 win over Millwall on Monday afternoon.
In Abraham’s absence, Jonathan Kodjia led the line-up front and he delivered the goods by scoring the only goal of the game. In defence, utility man Mile Jedinak helped his side keep a clean sheet.
Nonetheless, after securing their 10th win on the bounce on Easter Monday, Smith shared an injury update on two of his key players.
“Tammy has damaged his shoulder,” Smith told the club’s official Twitter account. “He’s had a scan on it and there is nothing displaced, he probably won’t be ready for Leeds.
“Axel [Tuanzebe] will be fine for Leeds, he rolled his ankle. He wasn’t one that we could risk with the potential of getting games further down the line in the playoffs.”

Given the fact that Tuanzebe is now fit for Sunday’s trip to Elland Road, the Manchester United loanee will more than likely start in Yorkshire because he is one of Villa’s best performing defenders.
Not only that, he provides balance in Villa’s backline and he will want to be building his partnership with the in-form Tyrone Mings.
Added with that, Abraham will also be looking to make a swift return to Smith’s starting XI because he has been a key figure up front this term.
More than likely, both players would make it into Villa’s strongest XI and with the playoffs confirmed they may well be starting their potential semi-final showdown with West Brom.
