Bjorn Engels has held his hands up and understood that his mistake on Sunday resulted in Aston Villa suffering a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham.
In the dying moments of the match, Engels mis-controlled the ball, which allowed Heung-Min Son to run through on goal and secure all three points for his side.
It was a damaging and heartbreaking moment for the Belgian, who took to his personal Twitter account to send this message to the supporters.

In the game overall, it was a day of mixed emotions for Engels, who had given away a penalty in the first half, which was converted by Son on the rebound, and then he netted his first goal in the second-half to level the scores, at the time.
But his mistake is just the story of the season for Dean Smith’s side, who have been error-prone from the first game of the Premier League season.
MORE VILLA STORIES
Ironically enough, that first match of the campaign was against Spurs when Smith’s side led 1-0, but mistakes in the second-half resulted in them walking away with zero points.
But in times like this, Villa have to stick together, and the support Engels received from the fans and his teammates at full-time shows that the togetherness is there.
It’s just a simple case of cutting out those mistakes and improving a leaky defence because those are the two major problems facing Smith.
