It has been a pretty indifferent start for Aston Villa, both on and off the field of play this season.

That heavy defeat to Newcastle United. Comeback win against Crystal Palace, but also the devastating injury blows to Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia.

But Aston Villa posted some good news on Tuesday and that’s the return of star midfielder, Jacob Ramsey, as the club posted on Twitter

Aston Villa’s academy product has been out of action since suffering an ankle injury for England U21s at this summer’s European Championships.

It meant that Ramsey missed pre-season, with Unai Emery’s side preparing for their European return on Thursday.

You would think that Ramsey won’t be ready for that Poland trip, but hopefully, he can make the bench for the Chelsea clash on Sunday.

Either way, it’s good to see him back because he further boosts a very strong midfield that Unai Emery has to pick from.

Time for an England call

What’s unlucky for Ramsey is that he was a key member of the England U21s winning the European Championships this summer.

You would think that he is close to repping England’s senior side one day and his performances, for the younger age groups, have surely helped him.

Yes, there is a lot of competition ahead of him, but as soon as he can get his engine going for Villa, then those performances will follow.

And you just can’t see why that England call-up won’t come because he deserves it.
