Ally McCoist has opened up about Aston Villa and their title credentials following wins over Manchester City and Arsenal.
This week Aston Villa have given their season a massive boost following record-breaking wins at Villa Park against two elite sides.
With victories over Manchester City and Arsenal, Villa cemented their place in the top four and in third place in the table.
As a result of this, conversations about the Villans, Unai Emery and their Premier League title credentials have become more apparent.

With this being said, there are reservations about the chances of them winning the league but a Champions League finish is a more likely goal. Former manager, Dean Smith was on the side of unsure when asked. This opinion is one that has been shared by a pundit recently…
What has Ally McCoist said?
Former Rangers and Scotland star, Ally McCoist has opened up about the Villans and their form in recent weeks.
With 15 wins on the bounce at Villa Park, it is safe to say that Villa are in great form and are one of the best sides in the league. Although their away form has arguably been patchy this campaign, their home form has helped massively.
With the most recent wins against City and the Gunners, a conversation around whether or not Villa are in a title race has been rife. The Villans currently sit just two points off top spot in third place.
Speaking on TalkSport, McCoist has discussed the Villans and their title aspirations. On that, he said: “Of course they are.
“I don’t think they’ll win it to be quite frank…But I tell you what, I certainly didn’t think Leicester would win it. Of course, they’re title contenders, absolutely.”
It must be said that the sides surrounding the Villans will be tough competition. They would be a surprise winner but there is certainly a possibility.
Adding to that, McCoist said: “As are Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City after that, I’m not sure. What a breath of fresh air Unai Emery and Villa have been, fantastic.”
With wins over two of those sides, Villa are one of the form sides in the Premier League, especially given the quality of the sides they beat.
With a dominating win over City and a hard-earned win over Arsenal, Villa have shown they have different ways of winning. These styles make Villa a credential as much as any other reason as to why they could win the league.
