Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins has made one young England fan’s day with a heartwarming gesture whilst at Euro 2024.
Unai Emery’s star talisman Ollie Watkins has made the headlines at Euro 2024 for reasons other than his performances on the pitch.
Unfortunately for the Aston Villa striker, his playing time has amounted to just 20 minutes so far at the tournament however, that hasn’t seemed to have dampened his spirits.
Now, the 28-year-old has gone viral on social media for a kind gesture he made to a young England fan who wants to be like the Villa forward.

Ollie Watkins makes heartwarming gesture to young England fan at Euro 2024
On X, a video circulated of a young England fan who was upset because he wanted his hair to look like the Villa striker’s.
The England social media team showed Watkins the video of the boy, where he then reacted to the young fan who was in tears.
Watkins reacted to the video by firstly saying:
“I need to get him some curl cream, look how cute he is, ah look how upset he is, he’s gutted.”
Then, the young boy’s dreams came true as the Villa man offered him one of his England shirts, saying that they can have ‘the same shirt’ but unfortunately, not the same hair.
“Hugo, it’s Ollie Watkins here. Although we haven’t got the same hair mate, we can wear the same shirt. I saw you were upset in that video so I thought I’d send you one of my shirts, this is from the Slovakia game so, I hope you enjoy it mate, take care.”
Aston Villa will hope to see Watkins get more attention on the pitch
It was a classy gesture from the Villa striker, who is adored at Villa Park for how he carries himself off the pitch, as well as being one of Emery’s best on it.
Now that the 28-year-old has been applauded for taking the time to address the young fan’s video, many will hope to see the Villa man receive praise for his actions on the field.
After netting 19 Premier League goals in the 2023/24 season, Watkins earned his call-up to Gareth Southgate’s squad however, is yet to be handed the opportunity to showcase his brilliance.
With England next in action on Saturday evening, it will be interesting to see if the Villa marksman can secure more minutes, in what is a crucial game for the Three Lions.
