Many of the Villa first-team have made their current jersey their own. Few owned the number 31 shirt before Leon Bailey; now it has become his signature number.

Ahead of the upcoming season, there could easily be one or two changes with two iconic jerseys now free.

1 – Emi Martinez
Previously worn by: Tom Heaton, Brad Guzan, Shay Given, Brad Friedel, Nigel Spink, Jimmy Rimmer.
Emi Martinez took over the number one jersey during the 2021/22 season where he has since become the undisputed first-choice ‘keeper at Villa.
2 – Matty Cash
Previously worn by: Ritchie De Laet, Alan Hutton, Luke Young, Mark Delaney, Earl Barrett, Alan Wright.
Matty Cash has been the current holder of the number two jersey since the 2020/21 campaign after his transfer from Nottingham Forest.
3 – Diego Carlos
Previously worn by: Matt Targett, Neil Taylor, Stephen Warnock, Alan Wright, Steve Staunton, Wilfred Bouma.
The Brazilian took over the number three shirt when he joined the club in the 2022/23 campaign.
