Aston Villa player set to travel 12,000 miles before Wolves clash
The international break is now well underway as Emery’s side receives a much-needed break. Due to the form the squad are in this season, multiple players have been able to retain their places in their national teams including Argentine goalkeeper Emi Martinez.
The World Cup winner is set to travel 12,000 miles to play for his country against El Salvador and Costa Rice. This is far from ideal due to the side’s West Midlands derby against Wolves at Villa Park, a crucial game in the race for the Champions League.

Manchester United’s overhype train

The race for the Champions League next season has mainly been contested between Spurs and Aston Villa. The two sides have occupied fourth and fifth in the Premier League for the majority of the season.
However, one side that believes they are still in the race are Man United. After their 4-3 victory over Liverpool in the FA Cup, manager Erik ten Hag insists the result can kickstart their campaign and reach the fourth spot.
These odd comments should be delightful for the team at Villa as the overhype train once again gets underway at Old Trafford.

Aston Villa player ‘costs’ Unai Emery’s side

On the weekend, Villa were unable to take their form from the Europa Conference League into the Premier League. Away to West Ham, Emery’s side struggled and only got a point thanks to a late VAR intervention to overrule the host’s late winner.
Multiple players were less than impressive including Jhon Duran. The striker did little to make an impact on Sunday with claims that he ‘cost’ Villa the win.
