Aston Villa are returning to the big time and they are heading there with boyhood Villa fan Jack Grealish as their captain, and rightly so.

The 23-year-old is currently on his holidays and is enjoying his break ahead of the new Premier League season, but that hasn’t stopped him from putting the effort in.

Grealish’s brother posted a video of him training in Dubai, during his break, on his personal Twitter account, as he stated that he has been doing this ‘every day’.

It says a lot about Grealish’s maturity as a man and a player now and how he is, as captain of his club, setting an example for one and all.

Three years ago, Villa were relegated to the Championship and Grealish was criticised for his antics during the off-season and the image he was presenting as a player of the club.

If truth be told, he was only a young player then, and many whether they are in the limelight or not, have done something daft as a youngster.

But the main thing above is all is that you learn from your mistakes, and that’s exactly what Grealish has done and it is a key reason as to why Villa are now in the Premier League.

Dean Smith handed him the captaincy when he returned from injury in March. Villa went on a 10-game winning run, pushed themselves into the playoffs and in the end won promotion to England’s top-flight,

Regardless of what happens next season, one thing is for sure and that is Villa are in safe hands. Both from those in the dugout and the player leading them on the field of play.
