Aston Villa and the fans have continued to clash this week over the club’s pricing.

While Villa has certainly worked wonders on the field over recent seasons, off the field, it has been far more questionable.

After achieving Champions League football last season, anticipation for the competition was high amongst the Villa Park faithful.

Villa’s Champions League fixtures were revealed last week, with a big tie against Bayern Munich scheduled.

As a result, Villa released the ticket prices for their upcoming Champions League matches which caused widespread backlash

Now, it has come to light that Villa have also increased the price of disabled parking, which has ignited further fury.

Disabled parking outside of Villa Park rises 100%

According to Birmingham Live, Villa have increased the pricing of their disabled matchday parking spaces in the Villa Village by 100%.

Last season, they were priced at £190, but it has since doubled to £380 for the new campaign.

Supporters using the spot were not told about this change until a week before their first home game at Villa Park, giving fans no warning about the price hike.

This has caused further outrage on social media as Villa fans struggle to defend another massive price increase.

Aston Villa is ‘dead’ after another price hike

With tensions already high between the supporters and the club, this recent price rise has seemingly only added fuel to the fire.

Many fans are outraged by the news, with one Villian even claiming that his club ‘is now dead’.

Other fans have labelled the increase as ‘disgusting’ with claims that the club have taken an ‘indefensible’ stance on the pricing.

Aston Villa quickly need to get the pricing situation under control

While price increases were expected at Villa after their recent success, how high they have been is simply unacceptable.

For many fans, the increase will likely be too steep, especially with the current cost of living crisis.

Therefore, many who dreamed of watching their club play in the Champions League will simply not be able to afford to go.

However, there is still plenty of time to rectify the issue. There is no shame in going back on the pricing, especially as it benefits the fans, and that is exactly what Villa need to do over the coming weeks.
