Aston Villa fans were left angered by a comment Paul Scholes made on Unai Emery regarding the Man United managerial vacancy.
When a new managerial role becomes available, Unai Emery is usually talked up as a candidate.
After all, the Aston Villa boss is one of the best tacticians in world football having worked wonders at Villa Park.
The Villans have made an excellent start to the campaign, sitting top of the Champions League table and losing just once in the Premier League.
Emery has one of the safest jobs in world football and it would take an unbelievable offer to prise him away from the project in Birmingham.
Predictably, his name has been discussed in the conversation of who is going to become the next Manchester United manager, with Paul Scholes sharing an interesting but rather disrespectful verdict.

Aston Villa fans react to Paul Scholes comments on Unai Emery
United sacked Erik ten Hag on Monday as the Red Devils sat 14th in the Premier League table.
Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim is now set to become the new Man United manager after confirming that the Premier League side are willing to pay the £8.3 million release clause for his services.
However, before talks reached an advanced stage, United legend Scholes shared an interesting prediction involving Emery, claiming: “If Man United went for Unai Emery tomorrow, I’m pretty sure he would walk there.”
Scholes thinks that the Spaniard would jump out of the dynasty he’s created at Villa Park and join a sinking ship, which couldn’t be further from the truth.
Reacting to the comments on X, one supporter said: “None of these so called pundits do any research before commenting on Villa,” while another commented: “Completely ignorant statement from him.”
“Absolutely right, John. As well a a lack of any knowledge of what is happening inside Aston Villa Football Club right now, which is easy enough to find out about. Shockingly bad punditry,” a third replied.
“I don’t know why people care what Scholes says tbh,” another responded.
“Ignorant and arrogant,” a sixth added.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa contract
Emery committed his future to Aston Villa at the end of last season, signing a new five-year contract after guiding his side to Champions League football.
Villa rushed to tie him down to an improved deal after Bayern Munich tried to prise him to Allianz Arena but the former Villarreal boss wasn’t interested.
It means that any club would have to pay a ridiculous fee to take him away from Aston Villa and that is about as likely as an offer being entertained in the first place.
Emery has built a dynasty in Birmingham and this season, he’ll be desperate to bring some silverware to the club, or at least go deep into the Champions League.
