Aston Villa fans on Twitter lauded the performance of Marvelous Nakamba despite his side suffering a 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday.
Nakamba started the match in the middle of the park alongside fellow summer signing Douglas Luiz and the ever-popular John McGinn.
Villa took the lead through Trezeguet in the first half, but Liverpool’s relentless pressure after the break paid off as they netted two late goals to secure all three points.
On the face of it, Dean Smith’s side deserved a point and someone like Nakamba summed up the work rate, desire and passion shown by the Villa players.
Whilst it was difficult trying to get hold of the ball against the European champions, Nakamba kept plugging away, trying to win possession, as in the end, his team suffered a heartbreaking defeat.

These are all positive signs for Villa, who will be well and truly chuffed that their summer signings are showing so much promise.
Nakamba is now proving that he should be a regular in the middle of the park, alongside McGinn, but the questions remains whether or not Luiz or Conor Hourihane is in that midfield with them.
Given that Villa’s weakest point is the defensive side of their game, perhaps playing that extra defensive-mind in the middle of the park will help them be that more solid.
