Aston Villa fans love what they have spotted about Douglas Luiz on Alisha Lehmann’s Instagram post

Aston Villa fans were gutted when Douglas Luiz left the club in the summer.

Even though Unai Emery guided Villa to the Champions League, they still had to sell such a key asset to comply with Financial Fair Play rules (FFP) and Profit and Sustainability rules (PSR).

As a result, Luiz left Villa and joined Juventus, along with his partner Alisha Lehmann, who joined Juventus Women after spending three years in the Midlands.

Villa played Juventus in the Champions League recently, but unfortunately, their summer signing was absent because it just so happened to be that he was injured.

The Brazil international deserved to be on the Villa Park pitch again, so he could get the reception that he deserved.

One thing is for sure, Aston Villa is still in Luiz’s heart and that was displayed as eagled-eyed fans spotted something interesting on his girlfriend’s Instagram post.

Luiz was 21-years-old when he joined Aston Villa from Manchester City in 2021 and it took him half a season to become a regular in the team.

From battling relegation to helping the team return to the elite, it was some journey for the player and he clearly won’t forget it.

When Luiz’s girlfriend posted a Christmas-themed Instagram message, Villa fans noticed an interesting frame hanging above the Christmas tree.

It’s a painting of Luiz in a Villa shirt and it’s fair to say that it put a smile on the faces of fans.

“We’re ready for Christmas,” wrote Lehmann on social media, added with a video of the two.

How is Luiz fairing at Juventus?

Injury hit and a lack of regular minutes. It’s not what the doctor ordered, that’s for sure.

Even if Luiz was fit for the Champions League game, he wouldn’t have started because he has struggled to get into Thiago Motta’s XI since moving to Turin.

When Luiz first joined Villa, he struggled to get going straight away and needed time before fans saw his true worth.

Perhaps he needs this at Juve because Villa have openly said that they would take Luiz back, with the set-piece specialist only playing 312 minutes so far, as posted by Tranfermarkt.
