Aston Villa fans have loved watching their club’s recent success on the pitch but many feel there is still a lot to be desired off the pitch currently.
Aston Villa fans know the club narrowly avoided breaching Premier League spending rules this summer thanks largely to the sales of Douglas Luiz, Omari Kellyman and Tim Iroegbunam.
This start to the off-season took some of the shine off of the achievement of qualifying for the Champions League, as Luiz’s departure left a particularly sour taste in the mouth of many.
However, with seven players were signed in the summer and Unai Emery overseeing a decent start to the season, excitement for the Champions League was built by Villa finding out their eight opponents.
This led to the club releasing their ticket pricing strategy for each of the four home fixtures, with the fact the cheapest ticket on offer was £85 drawing widespread criticism.
Aston Villa fans want Chris Heck out of club after latest update
Villa have done little to appease fans since the Champions League ticket price reveal, with the silence from president of commercial operations Chris Heck deafening.
Now, though, the club have released a statement from Heck confirming that general admission tickets for the first home game against Bayern Munich have sold out which effectively sets out that the ticket prices are to help the club with Financial Fair Play (FFP).

This seemingly tone deaf update has resulted in an angry reaction from Villa fans, with many now wanting Heck out of the club.
One fan responded to the update on X saying: “This club becomes more of a joke by the day. Chris Heck is pathetic.”
Another added: “What a load of waffle. Get him gone.”
Villa fans feel they should not be punished for the club’s PSR issues, with one responding: “It’s your responsibility to keep Aston Villa within PSR rules – not ours. £94 per game.”
Another quickly added: “Hiding behind PSR. Embarrassing.”
If the message was not yet clear enough, another fan simply commented: “Heck out.”
Champions League debacle has caused unrest amongst Aston Villa supporters
Villa fans were delirious when a top four finish was confirmed late last season as the incredible progress under Emery continued.
The fact the club will face the likes of Bayern Munich and Juventus would have seemed a pipe dream with the club looking set for a relegation battle before Steven Gerrard was sacked in late 2022.
Whilst fans will of course still be buzzing for the Champions League to start, many clearly feel let down by the club’s perceived money-grab with ticket pricing.
The huge ticket prices will undoubtedly price a number of loyal supporters out of seeing their club compete in Europe’s elite club competition for the first time since the 1982/83 season and that has understandably upset fans.
