The Saints pressed for an equaliser late on, but Unai Emery’s side managed to hold to for all three points.
However, with the visitors languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table, many Villains expected a more comfortable performance.
One player who was particularly disappointing was Jaden Philogene who did not impress the Villa Park faithful with his cameo.

Philogene came on with 30 minutes to go against the Saints in the hope he would help kill the game off. However, he did little to help the hosts achieve their victory.
This angered many Villa fans who took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their frustration with the winger.
Many fans believe that Philogene is simply not good enough for the Premier League and a loan move back to the Championship could be more beneficial.

Jaden Philogene needs a loan to get regular game time
It is clear that Philogene needs regular game time. The winger has shown glimpses of what he can do but never on a regular basis.
A loan move could help solve this issue. At Hull City, the winger was one of the best players in the league.
Philogene was even nominated for the Puskas Award for his sensational goal for the Tigers.
A similar move could see him regain his form and help get him back to his best.
