Aston Villa missed a sensational chance to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup after they were defeated 2-1 by Crystal Palace.
Villa were unable to continue their fine form into the Carabao Cup as Daichi Kamada scored a decisive second-half goal to ensure the Eagles’ progression in the competition.
The visitors had gone ahead in the first half through Eberechi Eze, however, Jhon Duran was able to net an equaliser before half-time
Yet, Unai Emery’s men were sub-par in the second period and were ultimately punished for their passiveness.
Many of the squad were below standards but many of the Villa Park faithful are now beginning to question Leon Bailey’s performances after another poor display.

In the 2023/24 campaign, Bailey was one of Villa’s star players. The winger had netted numerous goals and collected many assists as the club reached Champions League football.
However, at the start of the current season, the 27-year-old has struggled. In all competitions, the winger has only registered three assists and is yet to score a goal.
Therefore, after the club’s frustrating exit from the Carabao Cup, many fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to voice their concerns.
Many fans are also calling for the club to potentially sell Bailey due to his diminishing form.
Aston Villa fans need to stick by Leon Bailey
While Bailey’s form is poor, the Villa fans need to make sure they stick by their winger to ensure he gets through this period.
On his day, Bailey is unplayable and can easily win points on his own for Emery’s side.
A singular goal could help turn the tide and get him back to his best, but to do this, he needs the Villa Park faithful with him every step of the way.
Hopefully, Bailey can return to form soon and help Villa climb further up the Premier League table.
