Aston Villa are on cloud nine after winning their first two Champions League games.
Aston Villa were convincing in a 3-0 victory over Young Boys before edging out Bayern Munich 1-0 at home with Jhon Duran scoring the winner.
Fans were sent into dreamland after beating the Bundesliga giants but supporting their club has come at a huge price.
The Villa board were criticised for their Champions League ticket pricing. A breakdown of the figures showed that for each of their four league phase matches, the cheapest ticket adult tickets cost a whopping £85.
Despite Stan Collymore branding Villa’s ticket pricing as ‘disgraceful’, seats unsurprisingly sold like hotcakes for their clash against Bayern Munich, in what was a repeat of Villa’s 1982 European Cup final.
However, that isn’t the case for their upcoming tie with Serie A side Bologna on Tuesday night.

Aston Villa fans urge club to lower Champions League ticket prices
While one financial expert explained why Villa are charging the premium for Champions League tickets, supporters are now taking a stand by not attending the Bologna match.
In normal circumstances, Villa Park would have perhaps sold out with fair ticket pricing but instead, there are going to be thousands of empty seats as it stands.
For the last three days, Aston Villa’s ticketing account on X has been encouraging supporters to buy a ticket but considering the price for the cheapest adult ticket is £83, it’s not justifiable.
It paints the club in a very bad light as they’re so out of touch with the current climate. Many have urged the club to lower the ticket pricing, with one supporter saying: “Drop the hundreds of unsold terrace view to cat A pricing and they’ll be snapped up by the end of the day, it’s really not that difficult. So out of touch with the man on the street it’s actually scary.”
“7th time you’ve posted this since October 7th. When will you **get the message**? Perhaps this would’ve sold out by now, and not gone to general sale, if tickets were priced more reasonably. Some of your most loyal fans just can’t afford it,” another replied.
“Yet another desperate begging tweet for them, oh dear,” a third responded.
“Lower the prices and it’ll sell out simple,” a fifth said.
“Pure greed is why you haven’t sold out already. Ripping off fans… disgusting,” another replied.

Aston Villa must take note of Liverpool’s pricing
There’s no question that Aston Villa are out of touch with reality and unless they lower the pricing in future, they risk losing some of their most loyal supporters.
To attend all four of their league phase games, it would cost some fans at least £340 – if the average price paid for a ticket is £85.
Although it is watching elite-level football, at a lot of other clubs in the country, you can buy a season ticket for that price and watch up to 23 home games in the Football League.
Liverpool have the right idea with their Champions League ticket pricing. As per The Athletic, the Reds’ most expensive ticket at Anfield is £61.
They go as cheap as £30 for some adult tickets in the Anfield Road stand, while a small number cost just £9 in the upper tier of the Main Stand. Their prices are the same for every group-stage home fixture.
| Liverpool Champions League tickets | Adult | Over 65 | Young Adult | Junior |
| Main Stand | £61 | £45.75 | £30.50 | £9 |
| Kop | £44 | £33 | £22 | £9 |
| Main Stand Upper | £9 | £9 | £9 | £9 |
Villa can learn a lot from the above pricing and realise the sacrifices supporters make to go watch their team play, particularly on those cold and dark winter nights.
