Aston Villa are set to confirm a deal which will see Adidas produce their shirts from next season onward. Here is how fans have reacted to the news…

This season has seen Aston Villa have a successful season under the management of Unai Emery. The Spaniard has taken them to an amazing second place in the Premier League.

It has all been done while the shirts that the players have been wearing have been criticised for one specific aspect.

There had been complaints from the players from the men’s and women’s teams. This was due to the shirt becoming heavy and wet during games and this was weighing them down.

It was said that: “The shirt, made up of 90 per cent polyester and 10 per cent elastane, was “saturated” and not able to absorb sweat efficiently.”

In a surprise to nobody, the club have now moved to cancel the deal ahead of schedule. A move to Adidas has been preferred by the Villa hierarchy.

Confirming the move, Sam Wallace of The Telegraph said: “Aston Villa secure major new kit deal with Adidas, starting season 2024-25. The end of the Castore story is nigh.”

This has gone down well with fans on social media so let’s take a look at their reactions to the breaking news.

Aston Villa fans react to Adidas deal

Given that since a move away from Nike, Villa have had less well-known brands make their kits. This started with Macron, then Under Armour, Luke 1977, Kappa and now Castore.

As a result of this, fans are sure to be excited about a move to a provider as huge as Adidas. This is helped by the fact it is the first time the German outfit will work with the Villans.

Following Wallace’s exclusive post, many fans have provided their opinions and excitement regarding the potential deal.

This fan labelled the move as ‘Champions League behaviour’ which is something that the club is looking towards. The role of Chris Heck is to get the Villans recognised on a global level and it should certainly help with that.

This fan has professed their love for ‘Adidas gear’ before describing it as ‘great news’. It must be said that the leisurewear and training gear produced is famed in the industry for its quality and design.

It is safe to say that Villa fans are excited about the move to Adidas. Hopefully, the design and badge can marry up and fans will be happy with the end result.
