Aston Villa duo Unai Emery and Douglas Luiz have been nominated for monthly Premier League individual awards.
In the month of October, Aston Villa were unbeaten as they continued a terrific run of form in the Premier League.
As a result of this, Unai Emery has once again been nominated for the Manager of the Month award alongside some big names.
Record-breaking Brazilian, Douglas Luiz has also been nominated following a month full of goals and great performances.
There were plenty of players who may have felt they could be nominated for this award but Luiz is the man who has.

Who is Unai Emery up against?
There is plenty of stern competition for this monthly prize with some huge names.
The three other managers who are up against the Spaniard are Mikel Arteta, Jurgen Klopp and Ange Postecoglu.
In spite of some great form of all three of those managers’ teams, it must be said that Emery is deserving of the award.
The thrashing of top sides like West Ham, supplemented by solid wins over Luton Town and Chelsea has contributed to a great month.
There are reasons that all these managers could win this award, but Villa’s man has to be up there.
Who is Douglas Luiz up against?
Yet again there is plenty of competition for this award but Luiz has more than a fair chance.
Bryan Mbeumo, Pedro Neto, Declan Rice, Cristian Romero and Mohamed Salah are the rivals for the prize.
This award is different than others as the winner receives an increased rating on EA Sports FC 24 which often skews results.
With that being said, it is likely that an attacking player will win the vote. Salah is the likely winner of this award for that reason.
It must be said if this wasn’t the case and it was purely based on merit, then Luiz would almost be a shoo-in for the award.
With two goals and an assist in an unbeaten month, surely he has more than a fighting chance.
