Aston Villa have completed the signing of George Hemmings from Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa have secured the signature of the ‘highly rated‘ 16-year-old, who has represented England at U16 level – as confirmed by the club website.

He will initially link up with the academy sides at Bodymoor Heath, with him being put into the under-18 setup.

Who is George Hemmings?

George Hemmings is a professional football who plays for Aston Villa. He joined Villa in January 2024 and will start his career as a Villan in the academy setup.

Hemmings was previously of Nottingham Forest – but decided to make the move to Birmingham at the age of 16.

He’ll be hoping to impress Unai Emery in the future and work through the ranks to eventually reach the first-team squad.

Where and when was he born?

Hemmings was born on March the 4th 2007, in England. This means at the time of writing, he is 16 years old. He has already represented his country at Under-16 level.

What position does Hemmings play?

Academy manager Mark Harrison said: “He is a central midfielder who has good athletic and technical qualities and has a good presence on the pitch.”

As far as we know, this is his preferred, and only position.
