Aston Villa have announced their Champions League squad for the 2024/25 campaign as they embark on a historic return to the competition.
The Champions League is finally set to return to Villa Park after over a 40-year absence.
Unai Emery has brought the Birmingham outfit back to their previous heights, with the Claret and Blue side now competing near the top of the Premier League.
In September, Villa will compete in their first fixture in the Champions League since 1983, as they aim to qualify for the knockout stages.

Aston Villa announce their Champions League squad

For their Champions League squad, Villa were allowed to register 25 players for the competition.
Of the 25 stars, two must be goalkeepers. A minimum of eight stars ‘locally trained players’ must also be included, and no club may have more than four ‘association-trained players’ listed among those eight places.
If this is not possible, then the maximum number of players that can be registered from this list is reduced.
On top of this, a second list of players is also provided. This is reserved for academy players.
