Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Moussa Diaby from Bayer Leverkusen.
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa are interested in signing Moussa Diaby this summer. However, the Midlands outfit will face plenty of competition in the race to secure the winger’s services. Newcastle, Manchester United, and Arsenal – all sides who can dangle the carrot of Champions League football – are all also considering making moves for the Bundesliga forward.
On top of that, Bayer Leverkusen are thought to want a fee of £50 million in exchange for the 24-year-old. If the Villans were to meet these demands, then the deal for Diaby would eclipse the club record fee paid to land Emiliano Buendia in 2021.
Unai Emery is keen to bolster his options in the wide areas this summer, and a deal for Diaby would be a massive statement signing for the club.

Who is Moussa Diaby?
With the Villans set to compete in the Europa Conference League, and wanting to build on the successes of last season, squad depth will be key for them in the upcoming campaign. However, it is a question of adding quality as well as quantity.
Diaby certainly has plenty of quality. He has been capped 10 times at senior international level by France. He has also been in fine form for Bayer Leverkusen for the past few seasons, and is at an age where he can be expected to peak over the course of the next few years.
Having initially broken through at PSG in 2018, Diaby has since taken his game to new levels in Germany and looks ready to thrive in the Premier League.
It won’t be easy for Villa to secure a deal for Diaby. However, if they can pull it off then fans should be very excited indeed.
