Alan Hutton has suggested on Instagram that he will be leaving Aston Villa after he posted that the club will ‘forever be in his heart’.

The 34-year-old’s contract at Villa Park runs out at the end of next month [transfermarkt], and given his age, recent lack of game time and Villa’s promotion, it won’t be a surprise to see him leave.

Nonetheless, here is the popular Villa figure sending this brief message to the supporters on his personal Instagram account:

Hutton last featured for Villa on the last day of the regular season when he played the full match during his teams 2-1 home defeat to the champions of the championship Norwich City.

Since then, he has watched on and supported his teammates from afar as they clinched promotion to the Premier League on Monday by beating Derby County 2-1 in the play-off final at Wembley.

After the match, Hutton, along with the whole Villa squad and backroom staff, was seen celebrating with the club and its supporters.

But it now seems he is set to part ways with the Midlands giants, who now have to build for a very tricky up and coming Premier League campaign.

It remains to be seen whether Dean Smith will dwell into the transfer market for another right-back, but at this time, he has Ahmed Elmohamady, James Bree and January signing Fred Guilbert who can play in that positon.
