Aston Villa could cap an incredible week if they are able to beat Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday.
Unai Emery masterminded a historic 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night in front of an electric Villa Park.
The Aston Villa manager asked the club’s fans to again bring the noise for the game against Manchester United in the wake of that win in which Jhon Duran scored the only goal of the game.
Villa have lost just once in the league this season – a 2-0 defeat against Arsenal – so will be confident going into this one against a United side who are short on confidence.
Manager Erik ten Hag is also at risk of losing his job so Villa could really compound United’s misery with a win that would take them just two points off of Liverpool at the top of the table.

Tim Sherwood predicts Aston Villa to beat Man Utd
United were criticised for what was an awful display in the 3-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, where they looked miles off their opponents even before Bruno Fernandes was sent off.
Fernandes has since seen that red card overturned following an appeal and will now be available to face Villa, but Tim Sherwood does not feel this will alter the match in United’s favour.

Speaking to the official Premier League website, the former Villa manager predicted a 2-1 win for Emery’s side, commenting: “Because I just think they are better than Manchester United.
“I think they are capable of scoring goals and they will score two, and I just think that Manchester United have the moments to score one. So I am not sure he [Ten Hag] gets the results he wants.”
Aston Villa favourites against Man Utd

There are not too many times you could say that most would predict a Villa win against Manchester United over the years, but that is certainly the case now.
Villa are both collectively and, arguably, individually streets ahead of United and that is down to the incredible job that Emery has done in just under two years at the helm.
If you were to ask Villa fans then they would likely say they would not swap any of their starting XI for United’s and that is perhaps as telling as it can get.
Emery will be aware that United still should not be underestimated and will expect a reaction to their drubbing at the hands of Tottenham last weekend, but another win ahead of the international break would continue a fine start to the campaign.
