Aston Villa have been handed a significant boost ahead of their Premier League battle with Wolves on Saturday, with one of Unai Emery’s key players spotted back in training.
Aston Villa return to action after the international break on Saturday, welcoming Midlands rivals Wolves to Villa Park.
On the back of the final break in play of the 2023/24 campaign, the Villans will be hoping to end the season in style, with a top-four place still firmly in their hands with nine games to go.
To start off the run-in, Gary O’Neil’s in-form Wolves side will travel across the Midlands to battle Unai Emery, who has a worrying managerial record against the Old Gold.
Still, the Villans will be full of confidence given their form throughout the campaign, particularly with one first-team dynamo close to returning to action.
Aston Villa hint at Jacob Ramsey fitness ahead of Wolves clash
Having missed Villa’s previous two Premier League fixtures, Jacob Ramsey was today spotted back in training at Bodymoor Heath.
The Englishman has battled with injury throughout the 2023/24 campaign, making only eight starts since the beginning of the 2023/24 calendar in the top flight.
Now, it looks as though Emery will have the 22-year-old ace in contention to return to the squad on Saturday, with him featuring in training after being spotted in a video posted by the club’s official media team.
Return of Jacob Ramsey will be a huge boost for Aston Villa v Wolves
Aside from missing Villa’s previous two clashes in the league against Spurs and West Ham, Ramsey was also absent for the two Europa Conference League matches against Ajax.
The Englishman was sorely missed during his absence, with his ability to carry the ball needed over the past two league fixtures as the Villans failed to break down their London opposition.

It’s not just positive news for Villa, but positive news for Ramsey too who has had his season plagued with injury, just as he began to establish himself as one of the most critical players in Emery’s system.
Last campaign, the 22-year-old netted six goals and claimed seven assists in the league, becoming a driving force for his boyhood club and an overall magnificent player to watch in action.
Previously identified as a “special talent” by U23 scout Antonio Mango, the England U21 international will be keen to get his season back on track, with his return handing the manager a huge boost ahead of Saturday’s challenge against Wolves.
