‘Player…’ Emiliano Buendia wowed by 22-year-old Aston Villa star’s display v Nottingham Forest

The Aston Villa defence might be at its weakest it has been all season because of the injuries, but the attack is still firing at its very best.

That was proven on Saturday when Aston Villa raced into a 3-0 lead inside 40 minutes against Nottingham Forest, and despite a minor scare, went on to win the game 4-2 to further boost the club’s Champions League hopes.

One man who is now starting to get back to his best and produced one of his best displays of the season so far was, Jacob Ramsey.

It has been a frustrating campaign for the attacking midfielder because he missed pre-season due to injury, was out until September, suffered a setback and then returned in December.

He is now getting into the groove of things, including supplying a brilliant assist for Douglas Luiz’s second at the weekend.

When Jacob Ramsey took to Instagram to react to the win over Forest, he was praised by a number of his Aston Villa teammates in the comments section, including Emiliano Buendia, Morgan Rogers, Lucas Digne and Emiliano Martinez.

Jacob Ramsey praised

Buendia told Ramsey that he is a ‘player’, whilst Martinez said he was ‘class’ against Forest, Digne called him a ‘star boy’ and Morgan Rogers labelled him a ‘ballaaa’.

Patience is needed with Jacob Ramsey

If the 22-year-old was fit from the start of the season, then he would have been in double figures in goals or assists by now.

As of this moment, he only has one goal and one assist to his name, but he has only played 819 minutes of Premier League football.

The hope is that he will hit the peak of his form during these crunch moments of the season when knockout European football also returns, as well as trying to secure Champions League football.

What also needs to be noted is that Ramsey and Alex Moreno forged a very strong partnership out on that left last season and now they are building that up once again.
