The plaudits just won’t stop for Ollie Watkins following Aston Villa’s dramatic 3-2 win at Luton Town on Saturday.
The 28-year-old helped himself to yet another brace, which in the end, proved to be very, very crucial in the race for Champions League football.
You could see the reaction from Unai Emery at the full-time whistle, it meant a lot because he just knew how pivotal this could be.
But when Ollie Watkins reacted on Instagram to Aston Villa’s win, he was lauded and applauded by his teammates.
That’s 16 Premier League goals for the Aston Villa hitman, not forgetting his remarkable 10 assists.
There is every chance he scores 20+ by the time the season is up, and you just never know how far he is going to go in the assists charts.
Either way, Emiliano Buendia, who is still recovering from his long-term injury, and Ezri Konsa, who returned to action at Luton, were sure to give his teammate his flowers.
Ollie Watkins praised
Buendia told Watkins in the comments section of his IG post that he is ‘on fire’, whilst Konsa simply called him a ‘player’ and Leon Bailey added ‘we don’t stop’.

Euro 2024
Unless he gets injured, this surely has to mean that Watkins goes to Euro 2024 with England.
His two nearest challengers are way off it. Callum Wilson is injured again for Newcastle and it seems as though he will return during the final few weeks of the season.
Whilst Ivan Toney has been out for most of the season because of suspension and that might have now cost him a place because he has a small window to prove his worth.
Either way, unless Gareth Southgate bangs his head somewhere, there has to be a ticket for Watkins for Euro 2024.
