It was a disappointing afternoon for the majority inside the stadium as Unai Emery expected all three points but they were caught cold too many times on the counter.

Ismaila Sarr put the visitors ahead early on in this contest but Watkins brought Villa back on level terms after rounding the keeper and sliding the ball into the empty net.
John McGinn’s assist was just as delightful as the finish, with the Englishman netting his sixth top-flight goal of the campaign in 12 matches.
Remarkably, Watkins created history with his goal, as he became the first player in the club’s existence to be involved in 50+ goals or assists at Villa Park in the Premier League, per Squawka.
It places him above many incredible players, especially in the modern era, with not even Gabby Agblonahor, Jack Grealish or Christian Benteke capable of achieving that.

Villa will naturally be feeling disappointed this evening but Watkins can hold his head eye after a solid performance against the Eagles.
Aside from scoring a well-taken goal, the 28-year-old constantly ran the channels, pressed ferociously and linked play well.
