Aston Villa head to West Ham United on Sunday, looking to bounce back from their Premier League defeat against Tottenham.
Unai Emery’s side still occupy fourth spot, although Spurs hold a crucial game in hand over the Villans.
With Ange Postecoglou’s men also in action, this weekend could prove pivotal in the race for Champions League qualification.

West Ham’s win over Friebury on Thursday has boosted Villa’s chances of qualifying for Europe’s premier competition.
The Hammers are still in the Europa League and looking to build on their Conference League triumph last season.
Like Villa, West Ham have their injury issues to contend with, and David Moyes shared the latest in his most recent press conference.
David Moyes shares West Ham United injury latest
Speaking ahead of the London Stadium clash, Moyes revealed that £17.5million signing Maxwel Cornet would miss the fixture.
“Cornet certainly won’t be. He’s only just back and not on the grass yet,” Moyes told the press. Emerson will be a late call to see how he is. He’s not got a serious injury, just a little groin strain.”
What’s Aston Villa’s injury situation like at the moment?
Aston Villa’s injury issues are well documented, and it feels like it’s out of the frying pan and into the fire.
Diego Carlos and Ollie Watkins are the latest to fall foul of injury. Carlos was forced off late during the Villan’s 4-0 Conference League win over Ajax. On the Brazilian’s fitness, Emery said: “Diego Carlos felt a little bit of hamstring. I don’t if it’s a lot or not. He added: “Maybe he might not be available for Sunday; we will tomorrow.”
Watkins’ knee problem is of more significant concern. The 28-year-old has been brilliant thus far, and his durability is one of his key strengths. Hopefully, the impact injury is just that, and nothing more sinister will come to light over the coming days.
