Aston Villa extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to six games with a comfortable 3-1 win over Luton Town on Sunday afternoon, with Douglas Luiz starring.
Villa took a 1-0 lead into half time, with John McGinn scoring his first Premier League goal of the season.
Moussa Diaby scored Villa’s second before a Tom Lockyer own goal added a third. Villa then scored an own goal themselves with Emi Martinez also scoring an own goal to give Luton a consolation.
One player starred again for Villa though, in Douglas Luiz.

Douglas Luiz stars once again
The holding midfielder has been at Villa Park since 2019, joining from Girona in Spain.
The 25-year-old has developed into a brilliant holding midfielder for Villa, and has excelled especially under the management of Unai Emery.
He has been receiving plenty of plaudits for his performances this season so far, with Paul Merson saying he is one of the most ‘underrated’ players in the league.
The Brazilian put in yet another great performance on Sunday.
In possession Luiz was superb, as he assisted McGinn’s goal in the first half, but also had the second most touches in the game with 109, and had the most key passes with three.
Defensively he was great too, winning 83% of his duels whilst also having the most tackles with four.
Luiz signed a long-term deal last October on £75k-a-week, after Villa had rejected multiple bids from Arsenal for his services in the summer of 2022.
He is continuing his fine start to the season, after scoring a brace last Sunday in the 4-1 win over West Ham United.
