What a win for Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur…again!
During large parts of the first half, Aston Villa would have been fearing the worst. 1-0 down and it was looking like it could have been three or four – John McGinn spoke highly of Spurs and Ange Postecoglou before the match.
But, Unai Emery’s side fought back and improved tenfold in the second half, with Ollie Watkins scoring the winning goal.
That’s back-to-back wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the Midlands side after last season’s 2-0 triumph.
And it led to Villa’s official Twitter account brutally mocking Spurs with a three-word message: ‘Three Point Lane’.
These are normally words the likes of Chelsea, who also won their this season, like to associate with their London rivals.
But it was Villa sticking the knife in this time, which drew quite the response from supporters.

Villa move into the Champions League places
Most importantly, Villa have moved into the Champions League places and leapfrogged Spurs into fourth.
This is a massive win during a time of the season when things are going to get really, really tough.
The games are going to come thick and fast during this festive period, with Bournemouth up next for Villa and then Manchester City and Arsenal.
But before all that, it’s a European clash on home soil against Legia Warsaw.
