Unai Emery and Aston Villa return to Premier League action this weekend.
It hasn’t been an ideal start to the season, even though only three points separate Tottenham in tenth and Chelsea in third, with those in the Midlands sitting in ninth.
Aston Villa have lost four games in a row in all competitions and they need to bring some life back to their game.
Before the international break, Emery couldn’t complain much because he had the majority of his squad available, yet it wouldn’t show in the results.
But recently, injury worries have cropped up, with several players still seemingly on the sidelines and others returning from international duty early after injury scares.
Amadou Onana will be sidelined for a few weeks after picking up a muscle issue in Belgium colours, whilst Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen also returned early.
Across England on Tuesday, snow was falling and Aston Villa’s official Twitter account posted footage of the players going out for training as the temperatures dropped.
And the 26-second clip makes for good viewing.
Pau Torres, Ian Maatsen and Matty Cash in Aston Villa training ahead of Crystal Palace clash

Torres and Mattsen returned home from national duty last week, whilst Matty Cash has missed his side’s last few matches with more injury issues.
But the good news is that it looks like they will be available for selection for the Crystal Palace game on Saturday at Villa Park.
Footage showed Cash throwing a snowball as he prepared for training, whilst Torres was all smiles and Maatsen, wearing his 22-number tracksuit, had his face covered up.
Aston Villa’s upcoming fixtures
Let’s be honest, so far, Villa’s squad hasn’t showcased its full qualities because the performances and results have been off it.
But this is where you are seriously tested and this is the most gruelling period of the season.

Week in and week out, whether it’s the Premier League or the Champions League, Villa are going to be snowed in and some luck will be needed on the injury front.
Torres, Maatsen and Cash training is a big boost because, on top of Premier League matches, Villa have two huge European games to deal with – Juventus next Wednesday and then an away trip to RB Leipzig on December 10.
