Aston Villa fans would have been excited to see the players return to pre-season ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Euro 2024 and Copa America are still ongoing, so several Aston Villa stars will be arriving later than usual.
But still, it’s the season everyone has been waiting for because Unai Emery has guided Aston Villa into the Champions League.
The Midlands side will now be competing with the elite and every single player is going to have to produce their best-ever performance if the club is to progress again.
What will aid that is certain personnel returning, with every fan sure to be smiling when Tyrone Mings was spotted inside Aston Villa’s training camp.
He isn’t the only one. Midfielder Boubacar Kamara is another, but Villa fans might have to wait for a few months before they get to see him in action following his ACL injury in February.
Then there are the new boys, Euro 2024 semi-finalist Ian Maatsen is a major upgrade for Aston Villa and the standout purchase so far.
But there are two players at the club who fans surely can’t wait to see combine, because it is going to be devastating.
Jacob Ramsey and Morgan Rogers spotted in Aston Villa training
This is a midfield partnership that could prove to be very, very exciting, and if it gets going, then don’t be surprised if they earn England call-ups.
On paper, Jacob Ramsey is one of Aston Villa’s best players, but injuries just derailed his previous campaign and now he will be hoping to put all of that behind him.
Then there is the new (ish) kid on the block – Morgan Rogers. Given that he joined in January, from a Championship club and into an injury-hit team, it wasn’t easy.
Yet, the 21-year-old scored three goals, supplied one assist and had a crucial impact in the team finishing fourth.

Both are very similar in their styles, in regards to being outstanding ball carriers from deep and having a great knack for scoring goals.
For several years now, Ramsey has been doing it for fun and it’s just one of the reasons why he is so loved by the crowd.

But Rogers showcased similar qualities when he joined in the winter and he would get fans off their seats on a number of occasions.
The thought of those two doing it whilst on the same pitch together is going to cause the opposition some serious, serious issues.
It also allows Villa to become an even stronger counter-attacking side and also have fresh legs off the bench that can cause all sorts of havoc.
All in all, Villa fans should rightfully get excited by this partnership coming together for the first time ahead of the new season.
