Aston Villa could be securing the signature of their ninth signing of the summer because Douglas Luiz’s trainer has just dropped a telling hint on Instagram.
It has been previously reported that midfielder Luiz is on Villa’s radar as they have reached a £15 million agreement with Manchester City for his signature, according to BBC Sport.
But there seemingly has been a wait for his signing to be announced as Luiz trainer posted this telling message on his personal Instagram account.
Luiz’s trainer has added Aston Villa’s official social media handle into his message, with a picture of the highly-rated Brazilian in training.
It is quite clear that whilst Villa try to secure the signature of the defensive-minded midfielder, he is keeping himself fit before he makes the switch to the Midlands outfit.
Dean Smith’s side started their pre-season preparations earlier this month as they have already participated in two games.
It would have been ideal for Smith if Luiz’s signature was secured because he would have featured in those matches and it would have been interesting to see how he would have faired.
But there is enough time left to get the deal over the line because the City man will be a key jigsaw in Smith’s system as Villa return to the big time.
