Jack Grealish, Ahmed Elmohamady and Tyrone Mings expressed their delight on Twitter after Aston Villa beat Rotherham 2-1 on Wednesday night.

After missing a spot-kick at 0-0, Villa were reduced to 10 men after Mings was sent off for a handball in the penalty area with Will Valulks opening the scoring.

But during the break, Dean Smith brought on Jonathan Kodjia for Anwar El Ghazi with the Ivory Coast international making an instant impact by converting a penalty within two minutes of coming on.

Not long after, Grealish orchestrated a stunning team goal to score what ended up being the winning goal and a valuable three points for the promotion-chasing side.

After the match, Grealish, Elmohamady and Mings took to their personal Twitter accounts to send these messages to the Villa supporters:

Villa have won seven games on the bounce now and are sitting fifth in the Championship table with five games of the season remaining.

At the weekend, Smith’s side will host sixth-placed Bristol City in what is expected to be a mouthwatering encounter and a big chance for either team to take a real step towards finishing in the top-six.

Last season, Villa were beaten by Fulham in the final at Wembley when they had Steve Bruce in the dugout, this time they will be hoping to go one better with boyhood Villa fan Smith walking the touchline.
