Aston Villa co-owners Wes Edens and Nassef Sawaris were spotted at Villa Park on Monday afternoon as Dean Smith’s side made history.

The promotion chasers beat Millwall 1-0 on home soil to make it 10 wins on the bounce in the league – the first time the club has achieved this feat.

Before the game, Villa’s co-owners, alongside chief executive Christian Purslow, were spotted on the sidelines, as posted on the club’s official Twitter account.

There is no doubt that Edens and Sawaris would have been pleased with what they saw against Neil Harris’ men and where Villa are heading.

Those three points secured Villa’s playoff spot and it is looking ever so likely that they will meet Midland rivals West Brom in the semi-finals.

Leeds United are the other team that are heading for the dreaded playoffs as they will play either Derby County, Bristol City or Boro – Frank Lampard’s side are currently in the driving seat from those three teams.

Nonetheless, Villa will be hoping to put the heartbreak of last May behind them when they were beaten by Fulham at Wembley.

If they can pull off promotion then it would be a remarkable entrance by the Villa owners who only took charge of the club months after that defeat.
