Aston Villa supporters on Twitter were delighted with the news that Tyrone Mings has earned his first England call-up.

England manager Gareth Southgate labelled Mings as ‘outstanding’ as he praised him for the manner in which he has stepped up to the Premier League, as quoted by the Birmingham Mail.

In January, Mings moved to Villa Park when they were struggling in the Championship as he was looking to get his career back on track.

But the turnaround he has had in these last few months has been quite remarkable and no doubt deserved.

Despite Villa conceding six goals in their first four Premier League matches, Mings has been rock solid at the back and he will be looking to take that strong form and confidence into the international set-up.

It will be a big step up for Mings, but considering the recent rise he has been on, there’s no doubt that he’ll back himself to produce the goods if called upon.

With the Euro’s around the corner, a strong showing from Mings this season will more than likely see him force his way into England’ squad.

But whatever happens, Mings will have the backing of the Villa faithful, who are in no doubt in agreement that he deserves his call-up.

It has been mentioned by a number of Villa supporters as to how professional Mings has been since moving to the club.

Added with that, they have praised his leadership qualities, both on and off the pitch for Dean Smith’s side.
