If you like your transfers then Aston Villa is the place for you because it has been all-action at the newly-promoted side this summer.

There have been more ins than outs at Villa Park in recent months, with the club signing 12 players in total and two on Thursday.

But there was also some outgoings, with the most notable being that of Andre Green’s season-long loan move to Preston North End [PNEFC Official website].

Green’s temporary departure wouldn’t be a surprise to many supporters given his inexperience, the players that have come in and the manner in which he performed last season.

Last summer, then-Villa manager Steve Bruce sent Green out on-loan to League One side Portsmouth but he was brought back in January when Dean Smith arrived at the club.

He produced inconsistent performances and it was quite clear that he needed regular game time, and moving out on loan is no doubt the best road for him to do that.

Preston is a very good fit for him because he’s joining an attacking team and linking up with a manager in Alex Neil, who works very well with youngsters.

It will be very fascinating to see where Green’s future will be in 12 months time because if he can produce the goods at Deepdale then the future will be bright for the winger.
