Following transfer rumours linking Aston Villa to Crysencio Summerville from Leeds United, how could his signing positively impact the Villans?

It has been an overly positive campaign for Aston Villa which has been brought down to earth ever so slightly in the past week. With that being said, Unai Emery seemed to remain positive about his side.

With a draw to Sheffield United and a disappointing defeat to Manchester United, Villa’s top-four spot is only safe by three points.

It must be said that the Villans have struggled at times to break down a low block. This happened against the Blades but has also been part of dropped points against Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth.

Despite there being a whole host of creativity in the Villans’ squad, there has been a lack of ability to break defences down. This has sparked conversation regarding the injured Emi Buendia and his importance.

Now Villa have been linked to a starlet who is tearing apart the Championship this campaign.

Should Aston Villa sign Crysencio Summerville?

It must be said that, according to Fabrizio Romano, Burnley had a bid turned down for Crysencio Summerville over the summer. The bid of £20m wasn’t enough for Leeds United to part with their star man.

It is safe to say that keeping hold of the young Dutchman has paid off and then some this campaign. With 11 goals and six assists in just 19 starts, he has taken to life in the Championship like a duck to water.

According to his WhoScored profile, the ‘player has no significant weaknesses’ which just shows how great he has been. When it comes to strengths, his finishing is the top-ranking one with other attacking abilities shining. With dribbling, through balls and crossing being up there with his best, he could be a very useful asset.

At just 22-years old, there is plenty of room for growth and with Premier League experience, he will only improve. In his first two campaigns for Leeds in the top flight he managed four goals in 24 league games. This included a last-minute winner away to Liverpool.

Given his age, he could prove to be a very shrewd piece of business in the January window. The Championship has a track record for producing great talent that the Villans could tap into. Stars like Michael Olise and Ebere Eze, are just some of the big names to come out of the second division.

It is unclear as to whether or not Leeds would part with their star man partway through the season, but if Villa could tempt them, he would be a superb signing.
