Aston Villa target Douglas Luiz has posted on his Instagram story that he is in the United States, the same place where the Midlands outfit are currently training for pre-season.
The Telegraph have claimed that Villa are set to sign the 21-year-old midfielder this summer from Manchester City, with the fee reported to be in the region of £15 million.
As mentioned above, Villa are currently in the state of Minnesota, as they prepare for the new Premier League season, and with Luiz also there, it surely drops the biggest hint that he is set to put pen-to-paper.
Here is a snap of his Instagram story on Sunday afternoon:
Villa will kick off their pre-season campaign when they take on Minnesota United on Thursday before they return to England for a number of games against League One and Championship sides – Shrewsbury, Walsall and Charton will be their opponents.
Seven days before their Premier League opener, Dean Smith’s side will travel to Germany to take on RB Leipzig in what will be a stern and much-needed test for the Villa players.
There’s no doubt that Villa will be hoping that Luiz, who is a defensive-minded midfielder, will be signed for most of those fixtures because the new players have some bedding in to do.
At this moment, the newly-promoted side have signed seven players, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if that surpasses 10 before the window shuts.
